Objective
Words in two languages fall into a stone tower, one at a time. Each word has exactly one translation partner somewhere in the queue. Bring a word together with its translation and both vanish, scoring points and keeping the tower from filling up. If the stack reaches the top, the game ends.
Controls
- Drag to position — slide a falling word left or right to choose its column before it lands.
- Double-tap to hard-drop — instantly drop a word to its landing position. A hard-drop that completes a match earns a small bonus.
- Slide stacked words — words already resting in the tower can be slid horizontally to line up new matches.
- Double-tap to peek — double-tap any stacked word to briefly reveal its translation as a hint.
- Pause to study — while the game is paused, double-tap any word on the board to reveal its translation and hear it pronounced aloud.
Matching Styles
How close two translation partners must be to count as a match:
- Touch Match — partners match when they touch, horizontally or vertically, even with only partial overlap. More forgiving placement.
- Full Overlay — partners must line up so the shorter word sits fully within the longer one. Precise stacking required, but worth more points.
Slide Behavior
- Slide Stop — sliding a stacked word stops when it bumps into a neighbor.
- Push Mode — sliding a word pushes adjacent words along with it, opening up chain-reaction matches.
Difficulty
- Easy — larger word tiles, a wider tower, and groups of 20 pairs. A gentler pace for building confidence.
- Hard — smaller tiles, a tighter tower, and groups of 30 pairs. Less room for error and a faster climb.
Pace Settings
Two sliders let you tune the tempo to your level:
- Fall Speed — how fast words descend (1.0×–3.0×).
- Spawn Interval — seconds between new words (4–9). Longer intervals give you more time to plan.
Foundation Clears
Clear every word from the tower at once and you trigger a foundation clear — a fresh start on an empty board plus a bonus. Chaining matches into cascades is the key to setting these up.
Game Over & Master of Tower
The run ends when the tower overflows. Clear all of a session's pairs without topping out and you earn the title Master of Tower, which unlocks an extended vocabulary pack of 1,000 additional words.
